Rebec RPX-B1012 – 10-Channel Class D DSP Amplifier with 12-Channel Output
Product Overview
The Rebec RPX-B1012 is a multi-channel DSP amplifier from Rebec’s RPX-B Series, combining ten channels of Class D amplification with twelve channels of low-level DSP output.
Its ten built-in amplifier channels provide greater flexibility for systems requiring independent amplification across multiple speaker sections. With equal rated power available across all ten channels, the Rebec RPX-B1012 can directly support complex active configurations while reducing the need for additional multi-channel amplifiers.
The processor also provides twelve low-level outputs for further system expansion, together with high-level factory integration, USB Audio, 192kHz/24-bit Optical and Coaxial inputs, Bluetooth 5.4 and PC-based DSP tuning.
10-Channel Class D Amplification
The Rebec RPX-B1012 uses a Class D amplifier topology with ten integrated power channels.
At 14.4V and 4Ω, it delivers:
50W RMS × 10CH at 0.1% THD.
At 3Ω, output increases to:
66W RMS × 10CH at 0.1% THD.
Maximum output is specified at 100W × 10CH at 4Ω and 130W × 10CH at 3Ω, measured at 10% THD.
The important characteristic here is the consistency of the amplifier architecture: all ten channels provide the same rated output, allowing different speaker channels to be allocated without having to account for different power ratings between channel groups.
Suitable for Fully Active Front and Rear Systems
The ten-channel amplifier architecture significantly expands the number of loudspeakers that can be powered and controlled independently.
Rebec specifically identifies the RPX-B1012 as a solution for a 3-way active front system combined with a 2-way active rear system.
Such a configuration requires six channels for the front stage—left and right tweeter, midrange and midbass—and another four channels for an active two-way rear system.
That uses all ten integrated amplifier channels while allowing each speaker section to receive its own dedicated amplification channel.
This is an important distinction from configurations using passive crossovers at the rear. With sufficient amplifier channels available, the rear tweeter and midbass sections can also be driven as separate active channels.
12-Channel DSP Output for Further Expansion
Although the Rebec RPX-B1012 integrates ten amplifier channels, its processing architecture provides twelve low-level outputs at 2.2V.
The additional processed outputs allow the system to connect to external amplification when necessary.
For example, after using the ten internal channels for an active front and rear speaker configuration, additional processed output channels can be routed to a dedicated external amplifier for another part of the system, such as the subwoofer section.
This combination of ten amplified channels and twelve low-level DSP outputs allows the RPX-B1012 to handle a substantial part of a multi-channel system internally while still providing room for expansion.
Dual AP5688 DSP Processing
The Rebec RPX-B1012 uses two AP5688 DSP chipsets as its processing platform.
DSP processing operates at a 48kHz sampling frequency, with a specified dynamic range of 93dB.
For acoustic tuning, the processor provides a 31-band EQ, together with crossover processing supporting Butterworth, Linkwitz and Bessel filter types.
The system also provides six presets that can be saved and recalled, allowing multiple tuning configurations to be stored.
Adjustment is performed through PC software, providing centralized tuning control over the multi-channel system.
12-Channel High-Level Factory Integration
The input architecture also reflects the multi-channel nature of the Rebec RPX-B1012.
It provides 12 high-level input channels supporting 7.9–24.9Vpp, allowing the processor to receive multiple speaker-level signals from compatible factory audio systems.
For low-level analog sources, two channels supporting 1.3–5.1Vpp are available.
The combination of twelve high-level inputs and twelve low-level outputs gives the processor the channel capacity required for more complex factory integration and aftermarket system development.
192kHz/24-Bit Digital Connectivity
For digital audio sources, both Optical (Toslink) and Coaxial inputs support up to 192kHz/24-bit.
The RPX-B1012 also provides USB Audio input and built-in Bluetooth 5.4.
This allows the processor to work with different digital and wireless source configurations in addition to its analog high-level and low-level inputs.
DSP Signal Architecture
Alongside its dual AP5688 processing platform, the RPX-B1012 incorporates a CJC4344 DAC and ES7210 ADC.
Frequency response is specified from 20Hz to 20kHz, while the signal-to-noise ratio is specified at 94dB.
Total harmonic distortion is specified at below 0.09% for both low-level and high-level signals.
These components and specifications form the signal architecture supporting the unit’s twelve-channel DSP processing and ten-channel amplification.
Multi-Channel Capability in a Single DSP Amplifier
The Rebec RPX-B1012 measures approximately 197 × 208 × 50 mm and operates from a 10–16V automotive electrical supply.
Within this chassis, it combines ten Class D amplifier channels, twelve-channel processed output, twelve-channel high-level input and multiple digital source interfaces.
For installations requiring many independently controlled speaker channels, this integrated architecture can reduce reliance on separate multi-channel amplifiers while maintaining the ability to add external amplification where required.
Ten Amplified Channels for More Complete Active Systems
The defining characteristic of the Rebec RPX-B1012 is its combination of 10-channel Class D amplification and 12-channel DSP output.
Compared with an eight-channel architecture, the additional two amplified channels provide an important practical advantage: more loudspeaker sections can be driven actively without immediately adding another external amplifier.
This makes configurations such as a 3-way active front stage combined with a 2-way active rear stage possible using the ten internal amplifier channels.
Together with dual AP5688 DSP processing, 31-band EQ, multiple crossover filter types, six presets, 192kHz/24-bit Optical and Coaxial inputs, USB Audio and Bluetooth 5.4, the RPX-B1012 provides a flexible platform for building more extensive active car audio systems.
